What can small and medium sized businesses learn from the โbig dogsโ ๐ถ ? To put it simply: focus on your employeesโ talents and strengths. See why and how below. โฌ
Itโs easy to dismiss some Fortune 500 practices as impractical or out of reach since their enormous revenue makes almost anything possible. (The revenue cutoff in 2022 for the Fortune 500 list was $6.4 billion.) Clearly these organizations can afford โspecialโ perks like free food ๐ , fancy offices ๐ , fantastic benefits ๐ , and competitive compensation ๐ฐ.
But guess what? Learning the strengths of your employees and then focusing on those strengths is not going to break the bank or require a new HR team to oversee.

More importantly, creating a strength-based culture has both short and long-term benefits – benefits like reduced turnover, increased productivity, greater profitability, greater life satisfaction for employees, and my personal favorite โ increased employee engagement.
Do your 2023 goals align with the benefits listed here? If so, ๐๐จ๐ง๐ญ๐๐๐ญ ๐ฆ๐ to take the assessment and see for yourself how transformative a focus on strengths can be.
If the insights from your results (along with some coaching) donโt inspire you to be your best at work, then youโll be out an hour or two of time. But my guess is that this first step will open your eyes ๐ to what Fortune 500 companies have known for a long time:
